Martin Emslie lives in Somerset and is an experienced musician, composer and Musical Director. He is a church organist, choral conductor and has been Musical Director for over 50 shows. He is a member of ABCD, ACDA and the International Federation of Choral Music, holds an MSc, AMusLCM and was recently awarded the prestigious Fellowship of the London College of Music for the composition of Omega and Alpha.
In 2011 he wrote the score for an Award-winning musical drama “Strike it Lucky” and has also written numerous pieces ranging from a Eucharist setting which is regularly sung in Somerset (The Caryford Setting) to atmospheric ballet pieces, ballads and amusing songs performed in various theatrical productions. Martin composed “Mrs Noah and the Flood”, in collaboration with “The Bluebirds” premièred in November 2015 to great acclaim. This work is currently being adapted to go into schools and be a vehicle for children to develop their drama, music and art skills. His latest work is a Rock Mass written in Latin for a SATB choir with rock band accompaniment.
He has also been responsible for a number of arrangements for choirs, orchestras and swing bands including conducting a performance at the Royal Albert Hall.
Martin is a qualified teacher and has taught all levels of Music and Music Technology from Primary to National Diploma and has recently been appointed an International Examiner for the London College of Music.
